How to read a transfer rumor without upgrading it to a signing
Interest, negotiations and confirmation belong at different levels of certainty.

Identify what the source actually says
Start with the verb. A club monitoring a player is not the same as a club submitting an offer. Negotiations do not by themselves establish an agreement, and a report of an agreement may still describe conditions that have not been completed.
Open the original report when possible. A social post summarizing another outlet can lose the qualifications that made the original claim accurate.
Make a small evidence note
Record the source, publication time, exact claimed stage and what remains unknown. If a fee is described as including possible add-ons, do not repeat it as an unconditional payment. If a loan is discussed, do not silently turn it into a permanent move.
You do not need to choose whether every rumor is true or false immediately. Sometimes the accurate position is that a named outlet reports interest and no official announcement has been located.
Recheck before sharing
Transfer stories can change quickly. Look for a newer club announcement or correction before reposting an old headline. Preserve the difference between your own expectation and the evidence available.
