A goalkeeper glove routine for the hours after training

Follow the maker's instructions and give used gloves a planned place to dry.

Make the end of practice part of the routine

Decide where the gloves will go before leaving for training. A closed bag may be necessary for transport, but it should not become an indefinite storage location for a wet pair. Set a reminder to unpack when you return.

Use the instructions for your gloves

uhlsport’s care guide recommends washing away dirt, air drying away from direct sun and heat, and preventing the palm surfaces from sticking together in storage. Check the instructions supplied with your own model for the cleaning method and any suitable products.

Do not assume that a household cleaner or a brush is appropriate for the palm material. The purpose is to follow a known care process, not to experiment with a new chemical treatment just before a match.

Notice changes over time

After drying, inspect the pair and note visible wear. Keep that observation separate from a claim about remaining protection or grip that you cannot measure. If something concerns you, ask the manufacturer about the specific condition.

A second pair can make scheduling easier, but it is not a substitute for caring for either pair. This article explains a routine based on manufacturer guidance; ASG has not run a durability test. Our training-glove buying guide covers the purchase decision.
