Compare the delivery with the order
Before removing every label, check the model, size, color and included pieces against the order confirmation. For a multi-item bundle, count the contents. Keep the packaging until you understand the seller’s return requirements.
If something is wrong, record the difference clearly. A photograph of the delivered label beside the order details is more useful than a vague statement that the item looks different.
Read the supplied instructions
Look for assembly, inflation, washing or storage guidance that applies to the exact product. Do not assume the new item follows the routine you used for an older one. Where instructions are missing, consult the manufacturer rather than improvising a procedure from an unrelated product.
Try wearable items in the manner allowed by the return policy. Check the combination with the rest of your kit before taking it to the field.
Prepare for actual use
Label equipment where permitted, decide where small accessories belong and put instructions somewhere you can find them again. A simple phone note with the model and purchase date can help when ordering a replacement part later.
This is an organizational checklist, not a technical inspection certificate. If a product appears damaged or its setup is unclear, resolve that with the seller or manufacturer before using it.
