Use the transport operator’s current information and the stadium’s event guidance. Confirm the station or stop nearest your actual entrance, not simply the one nearest the center of the venue on a map.

Look for planned service changes on the date of the match. Do not assume the route you used last season still has the same frequency or late-night service.

Save the details you need offline

Write down the destination, useful departure times and a meeting point outside the busiest area. Keep ticket access ready in the way the operator requires. If you are traveling with others, make sure more than one person understands the return plan.

Build in time for walking and queues. The timetable’s arrival at a station is not the same as arriving at your seat.

Decide on a backup

Agree what happens if the match runs late or the preferred connection is missed. That might mean a later service or another route you have already checked. Avoid inventing a last-minute shortcut through an unfamiliar area.

This is a planning framework rather than a live route recommendation. For a particular city, the operator and host venue remain the right sources. Preparing the return journey lets you concentrate on the match instead of counting down to a transport deadline.
